Godchild by G.P. Barrett is available on Kindle for just $2.99. For Amazon Prime members, the book is free in the Lending Library.

It is the summer of 1969. On their way home from church, young Billy Briggs’ parents are killed in a fiery crash. Billy’s belief in God, strained by the accident, is further tested when he is sent to live at a lonely, run-down farm with his uncle, an abusive alcoholic with a lazy live-in girlfriend.

Billy tries to make the best of the situation, but things spiral out of control when the boy witnesses his uncle committing murder. Now Billy must survive until he can get to town with evidence of his uncle’s foul deed. In the end, only his wits and faith can save him. Billy comes away from his ordeal battered physically, but stronger emotionally and spiritually.

A heartfelt coming of age thriller, Godchild will have readers terrified and entranced from the opening chapter until the final page.

From the Reviewers:

"The thinking man’s coming-of-age thriller."
--Kim Wiley, Author of Love in Mid Air

“Intense and driving, Godchild will keep you riveted as you read, hope and pray...”

--Ed McKeown, Author of Was Once A Hero

About the Author:

Writing is only one of the things I do. To make a living I work props for films and television. My most recent work is on the Showtime show Homeland.

I also occasionally produce low budget films of the horror and thriller variety. Our latest, COLD STORAGE, can be seen on Netflix or picked up right here at Amazon. We're working on getting our next project going.

I've been writing since I was about 11. Like most people, my first stuff was horrible (although creative, I think). I'd like to think I've gotten better. I have several things in the works at the moment, but the primary focus is on a YA book set in a post apocalyptic time. (But the apocalypse wasn't from your usual suspects.)

I live in North Carolina with my partner, a filmmaker and graphic artist. We have two cats, one neurotic, the other just plain crazy.
