Daily Kindle Bargain - Origins by Sean Hayden

Origins (A Demonkin Novel) by Sean Hayden is available on Kindle for just $2.99.

Description:

Ashlyn Thorn was born different. Born with all the characteristics of a vampire, she lives in a world where vampires, elves, and werewolves work, play, and die side by side with normal humans. But everyone knows vampires aren’t born, they’re made. The only thing she wants is to know her true origins.

Ashlyn’s quest to discover the truth of her differences is all that matters. But with every answer, she uncovers more uncertainties. To make things worse she has found herself an enemy of the most powerful vampires of the city who fear her powers are too dangerous to let go unchecked.

Salvation comes at the hands of the government, or does it, who trains her in the ways that best serve their purposes. Ashlyn is torn between two worlds. She can either be a monster, or she can help destroy the monsters.

From the Reviewers:

"Where to start? There is just SO much to love about this book. From "Ash," its kick-butt main character and her tough, snarky attitude to a plot that encompasses every genre I love: from the "supe" vampire discovering her powers to the special training as the first vamp for the FBI to the police procedural of who's offing victims in Chicago to the gallows humor between Ash and her partner to the blistering grand finale and surprise "Epilogue," every page of Sean Hayden's "Origins" draws you further and further in.

"This book is such a great "shot in the arm" for the vampire genre and although it has a teen heroine, don't think it's just for young adults; anyone who loves vampires, werewolves, demons, epic battles, bone-crunching fight scenes and plenty of twists and turns will devour "Origins" as quickly, and as gratefully, as I did."
--R. Fischer "Rusty Fischer", 5-star Amazon review

"Following what is in one's heart and allowing love to prevail brings this story to an ultimate "Sweet Light."

"
I'm a huge fan of vampire books - from Varney to Dracula, and Carmilla to Eric, I'd like to think I've read a fair few of them.

"And not since the True Blood series has something come along to make me sit up and take notice. Forget the billowing angst and wallowing mithering of the Twilight books, if you really want to get your teeth (geddit?) into something, then Sean Hayden's Origins is for you.

"Meet Ashlyn Thorn, born a vampire and more. Her sheltered life is torn apart by the death of her beloved aunt and she is cast adrift in a world that she has never ventured out into before.

"A series of events leads up to her training to be an FBI agent--an incredibly neat and new premise, beautifully delivered--and once she gets her badge she heads out into the big bad world, where supes and vamps rub shoulders with humans, as the press-styled Verminator. And a special mention here goes to Darenthalis, the elven instructor at Quantico, he is superb.

"Hayden is good, really good, at writing a very likeable female lead, and he doesn't disappoint with Agent Ashlyn. He has taken apart vampire characteristics and put them back together again with a touch of added supernatural predatory powers. She struggles with her past and her present, and the cinematic style of writing brings her vividly to life.

"A wonderful book, can't wait to read more."
